The freshman experience may look quite different next year, as the Pacific University faculty have decided to revamp the format of the Freshman Year Seminar class, better known as FYS. Intended to be an introduction to as many academic and social aspects of college life as possible, FYS is currently a mix of critical thinking, writing skills, discussion, co-curricular activities, and skills and methods for academic achievement.

Class began five minutes ago, the nearest parking space is 10 blocks away, and the rain is coming down in heavy sheets which would make the walk to campus that much more miserable. Suddenly through the rain dozens of parking spaces appear but there is a sign reading "customer parking only.

Baked goods from PT

Students from the School of Physical therapy have taken to selling baked goods every Tuesday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and have been doing so for the past six weeks. The bake sale is one effort to raise money for a trip to a Combined Sections Meeting, an annual physical therapy conference that will take place Feb.

CORE passes faculty vote on third try by large margin

The third time is always a charm right? It must be, because the third faculty meeting that included the new core proposal on its agenda was finally a go. The proposal was passed by what David DeMoss, associate dean, called an overwhelming margin - 64 to 9 and three abstentions.

Pacific VPs give $100 each for one percent
