Pacific hosts U.S. televised Senate Democratic Debate
Pacific will host a live, televised debate between the democratic candidates competing for Senator Gordan Smith's seat on April 27 in the Taylor-Meade Performing Arts Center.
Candidates to be featured in the debate are David Loera, Jeff Merkley, Candy Neville and Steve Novick.
Doors will open at 3 p.m. and will close at 3:50 p.m. with the debate beginning at 4 p.m. exactly.
Tickets are required and will not be available at the door.
Tickets can be ordered in advance by contacting the OMLV at info@oregonlmv.org or 503.289.7520.
The event will be moderated by KATU anchor Steve Dunn.
The debate is being sponsored by Pacific University, KATU-TV and the Oregon League of Minority Voters.
Pacific students to host children's rights event at PSU
Pacific students have organized an event to raise awareness about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The event will occur on April 26, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Portland State University's Native American Student and Community Center.
The Center is located on the corner of SW Broadway and SW Jackson Street in Portland.
Light refreshments will be served at the event.
Students in the Macro Social Work class, taught by Professor Jessica Ritter, organized the event.
