Discussions are currently under way and a meeting was held on Monday, April 7 to review two new core requirement models that would replace our current model as early as fall 2009. The size of the core requirements are expected to stay the same, but administration wants to have more integration between the courses and ensure that they are meeting the basic curricular goals.

University increases minimum mileage and per mile rates for use of school vehicles As of April 1, the cost of using University vehicles increased, both in minimum mileage and per-mile fees. With the rate increase, the cost of using a Pacific car is 21 cents per mile with a minimum fee of $7.
Starting on Monday, April 7 the Pacific Progressive Union began hosting the "Do You Se Orange Campaign." "Do you see Orange" is a campaign to raise awareness of the impact of HIV and AIDS on Africa. PPU does so by having a large number of Pacific Students where bright orange "Orphan" shirts.
With a record number of votes cast during Pacific University Undergraduate Council's Elections, Lindsey Costley has been elected President for the 2008-2009 academic year. PUCC allows students to develop leadership opportunities and professional growth while catering to the Pacific community.
Noted political economist Robin Hahnel lectured the Pacific community about the current political situation in Venezuela April 9 in Taylor Auditorium. His lecture was titled "21st Century Socialism in Venezuela: What's the Deal?" and was the second annual In Your Face lecture.

Born and raised in Brazil, Enie Vaisburd has studied in Israel and the United States, and has had a passion for film for as long as she can remember.
