In lieu of the buzz with the 2008 Presidential Democratic candidates, we wonder why there is no attention on our own election for the Pacific Undergraduate Community Council.

Every year we see the witty flyers and promotions for the candidates, but who actually votes?

Do you know what the election is for?

PUCC facilitates cooperation among students, faculty and administrators to promote the exchange of ideas to achieve the goals of both the students and university.

PUCC funds campus events and organization activities. They promote events that enhance the community. These individuals have the power over our academic and social lives.

This year we finally have a race for our President, Lindsey Costley vs. Bill Campbell. We have a choice, we can decide who we want to be the student body representative. This person has power to be our voice, why don't we take more initiative and interest to have a more exciting race?

The U.S. Presidential Election candidates campaign for two years before we hit the polls, but the PUCC candidates only have two weeks before we can vote.

With Obama and Clinton making mud-slinging fun with their nontraditional appearances, meaning not a white male Anglo-Saxon Protestant (WASP), we hope that the same can go for PUCC.

Currently, all the elected representatives on the PUCC board is full of female opinion.

Maybe one of the three male candidates, including perspective president, Campbell, will win the majority vote and change up roundtable.

Three of the candidates have previously served on the committee, maybe an outsiders opinion could enhance the lack of buzz on this campus.

All students can vote online Thursday, March 20, so VOTE.

And register to vote for the 2008 U.S. Presidential Election in November.
