Give your two cents on tuition
Issue date: 2/29/08 Section: Opinion
So where is your tuition money going anyway?
We hear rumblings that students don't like the fact that their money is going towards expensive dorms.
Well, your money isn't going there.
Students are perplexed that we are building a multi-million dollar athletic complex with the university's newfound cash.
Tuition money didn't fund the overhaul of Lincoln Park.
If the 10 percent increase in tuition hasn't gone to these projects, where are your several extra thousand dollars going?
You can find out on March 3 at 6 p.m. at a forum with Phil Creighton, president of Pacific.
He's hosting the open forum to talk about where tuition money is going.
This is a great opportunity for students to come and voice their worries, complaints or anything they feel the leader of our university should know.
As a matter of fact, if you don't come to this forum, then you need to keep your mouth shut. The university is reaching out to students and asking them to come to this forum so there can be some sort of communication, so step up and ask Creighton the hard questions.
The last time a tuition forum was held, the turnout was minimal.
So either we're a school full of rich kids from wealthy families that don't worry about money but complain about it only because they're bored, or we're just a bunch of whiners that don't step up to the plate when we're given the chance.
Lots of students have left instead of paying more money. If you're planning on staying here, go be heard.
